Re: Electret cap question.
It partly depends on how much gain boost you are adding at the mic preamp stage and subsequently in your DAW.
Good mic mic preamps will have an equivalent input noise of around -127dB, well below

Looks nice. Can you share the STL?

Novice Question - Noise Floor Figures -
I see many microphones and capsules rated between 14 and 22 dB "self noise" (in layman's terms)
Given the relative importance of the ratio of

Re: Senheiser? wireless mic identification
Hi!
From the photos you sent it looks like a H&A HA-OM-L. Unfortunately, I can't help you with the circuit.

Senheiser? wireless mic identification
Hi all,
I haven't posted here before, but I've been monitoring your posts for a while.
I have a bunch of the omnidirectional wireless mics shown in the pics below - these were used with Senheiser

Re: Electret cap question.
A decade or two ago, we were all raving about Panasonic WM-61 omni capsules, right? And rightly so; they were pretty amazing for the price.
Anyway, since discovering Primo and PUI omnis, I haven't

Re: Electret cap question.
You'll notice that? the signal/noise ratio for the EM272 is listed at -80dB... which corresponds to having a self noise of 14dBA
It's also more sensitive than the capsule you listed.... So you would

Re: How to implement SimpleP48 with PUI 5035 three-pin design?
So "Modded 3 wires" means you have to use a cable with three conductors plus shield?

Re: How to implement SimpleP48 with PUI 5035 three-pin design?
All you really need to do is connect the Source to Ground and then it is
"two wire" You get higher sensitivity and a lower Max SPL but I have never
had an issue with

Re: Electret cap question.
Thanks Arjay,
Pretty high then given an EM272 is ~14dB. For the price I'll order a couple
as they're <?1 each. But I hold no expectations.

Re: Electret cap question.
The self noise figure for a capsule is normally calculated? by subtracting the published signal noise ratio in dB from 94. (? The standard refernece pressure (1Pa) is normally 94dB SPL @ 1KHz).
So

Thank you for sharing.
I copied, and made some adjustments to suit my needs.
A ring in the middle to activate the clamping mechanism of the XLRE insert.
A ring at the end to backstop the capsule.

Electret cap question.
I discovered the electret the other day, whilst browsing online. It appears
to have reasonable specs from what I can tell. However it doesn't publish a
self-noise figure. Is there a way to derice this

Thanks for the troubleshooting.
Here is the diagram with the two possibilities. In my opinion, perhaps wrongly, they are different.

I don't understand why you surmise that " /if I also place the Rs resistor next to the XLR connector and in this way I lose this protection/"
You may place the resistor any place you choose, and in

Re: How to implement SimpleP48 with PUI 5035 three-pin design?
First of all, I would like to thank the group for all the information they shared, as without it I would not have been successful. After some experimentation, I managed to get 9VDC from the capsule.

Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
MS is a bit different than that. The Mid mic is cardioid and is panned
center. So equal amounts in left and right. The side mic is figure 8. You
send it in phase to one side and then invert it and
