Re: P48 Omni enclosure
Thank you for sharing. I copied, and made some adjustments to suit my needs. A ring in the middle to activate the clamping mechanism of the XLRE insert. A ring at the end to backstop the capsule. the

Electret cap question.
I discovered the electret the other day, whilst browsing online. It appears to have reasonable specs from what I can tell. However it doesn't publish a self-noise figure. Is there a way to derice this

Re: How to implement SimpleP48 with PUI 5035 three-pin design?
Version 1 is definitely wrong, as nothing is really shielded.

Re: How to implement SimpleP48 with PUI 5035 three-pin design?
Thanks for the troubleshooting. Here is the diagram with the two possibilities. In my opinion, perhaps wrongly, they are different.

Re: How to implement SimpleP48 with PUI 5035 three-pin design?
I don't understand why you surmise that " /if I also place the Rs resistor next to the XLR connector and in this way I lose this protection/" You may place the resistor any place you choose, and in

Re: How to implement SimpleP48 with PUI 5035 three-pin design?
First of all, I would like to thank the group for all the information they shared, as without it I would not have been successful. After some experimentation, I managed to get 9VDC from the capsule.

Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
MS is a bit different than that. The Mid mic is cardioid and is panned center. So equal amounts in left and right. The side mic is figure 8. You send it in phase to one side and then invert it and

Re: Does anyone have any ideas on how to secure a capsule inside the enclosure and not have the capsule stay inside? (similar to lom usi)
Haha that "not" is a mistake...

Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
Do I create a proper mid/side setup by using 3 microphones => 1 hard left - 1 mid - 1 hard right? I guess by doing so I don't have to? deal with phasing issues?
Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
Thanks, really appreciate all this help and info.

Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
Thanks, that's some good info. I'll read up on Jules' link too. Do you have that schematic in a larger format? I can't make out what the transistors are properly

Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
Yes - the 2 side capsules are connected out of phase. The idea was 'borrowed' :) from Jules' great M/S instructable here: https://www.instructables.com/Build-the-MS-Alice-Stereo-Microphone/ (Here's my

Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
I made one pair of cardioid mics using Transsound TSB 140 capsules and simpleP48 powering, and they have been OK for general field recording. I think it's an easy thing to try first; you can always

Re: Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
Thanks Arjay, It seems it could be a good candidate. I never knew you could use opposed cardioids as a figure 8. I assume they are wired out of phase with each other? For an XY, what circuitry would

I used 3 x EM204 capsules for an experimental Mid/Side mic I built into a BM800 body, and was very pleased with the results.? (Picture attached) I think the EM204 is probably the the best sounding

Homebrew AT BP4025 ideas?
I'm looking at creating an XY mic for some field recording. I have seen that the Audio Technica BP4035 is a popular choice in this regard. I've started to think about trying to create something of a

Yes, you're right. In this case, the circuits need to be isolated for simple48 connection.
