New transformer for ELA M251 microphone
After over 6 months of development and testing I'd like to introduce the FAB T14X transformer. This will bring out the full potential of the ELA M251 or C12 (

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
This hybrid filament requires a specific printer capable of extruding at hot temperature (about 300¡ãC), a very hot bed (about 120¡ãC) and a specific adhesion plate.
I would think it takes a while to

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
It's partially curiosity, and partially the desire to modify.
While you might not have a need for all of this information, someone else might. I gathered all of these specifications for my own use,

AOMs-5024 in enclosures from China
Few days ago I completed the build of my first two AOM 5024 mics.
The build is simple, well documented (Tom's blog and Jules' instructable. BTW thanks to them I joined this great community). I

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
Regarding nose cone material, I run the center conductor / spring through a piece of Teflon insulating tubing. The material of the rest of the cone is relatively unimportant.

That PC/PTFE filament seems promising, indeed. Didn't know it existed. Thanks.

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
Good news, I'm in the US and can buy as many as I want.
Though I want to keep the end-addressed pencil form factor. These are going to be in a backpack most of the time, so keeping the whole kit small

Re: Takstar CM-63 Schematics and teardown
I have very high opinions of Takstar - here

Re: Takstar CM-63 Schematics and teardown
Thanks for the spot check. I also mislabelled some inductors and diodes. Fixed them in this schematic. I decided to add the unpopulated cap and zener as well.
I agree there wouldn't be much

TSB-165A is the classic Alice capsule.? 16.5mm or "MDC" if there is such a term.

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
And for a slightly larger capsule the TSB2555B is seriously good. Scott refers to the TSB160 as a SDC. It is really good as well.

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
... because I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants an SDC < $200 that's decent quality. And I love to make it open source because not everyone has the money or tools required to do this

Re: Takstar CM-63 Schematics and teardown
I seriously doubt replacing this cap with a styrene would change anything to teh sound.
The voltage across it is extremely low and CoG are very linear.
BTW, Sw2 is the *High* pass filter.

Takstar CM-63 Schematics and teardown
To continue my bewildering obsession of finding a good and cheap SDC mic, I have completed a mostly completed schematic of the Takstar CM63 microphone.
This one is a bit interesting, as it has very

Thanks for the PDF. That is useful to see. The SC140 is very popular at Thomann but there's very little measurements to verify their spec sheet. They state a 9dBa noise floor and a pretty flat
