I truly appreciate this post - as I am just about to order one of those boards from a vendor on eBay.com. I was suffering the same connundrum as it is pictured alongside first a condenser and then two different electret capsule. I will report what I can after it arrives !
(PS - I am betting with you that it only works with electret elements.)
