Herewith a thought from my side. We as fortunate and rich "Westerners" are going to visit one of the poorest countries in the World (in fact Madagascar is top 3 poorest countries in the World).
?
My idea would be to participate in some kind of charity while we are visiting. As we are already fully packed, brining items with us is not very realistic, however if we have some spare old mobile phones etc. this could be of help maybe. In addition we could do a fundraiser, but I would personally like to make it practical and concrete and for example purchase items for a school or Project directly while we are there, so we don't transfer money but donate goods and can see and show our lenders what we actually supported.

I have some experience with charity and donating in Africa, but would like to hear from you about your ideas and thoughts. In the meantime I can search for some charities / NGO's around Nosy-Be.
