Guys,

My opinion on this that it likens the old farm boy that found a
real
foxy girl friend but chose to still do it by hand. Obviously Mach2
and the foxy girl friend could and would do a better job but only
if
the old farm boy could just figure out how to make it happen.

Good idea a "virtual compound rest" to work with a jog
button....You would need to type in line like: G0 Z4.0 X.5 then
there should be a code for jog...if you don't want it executed. (if
the taper is 4.0 long and the difference in the taper is .5)

The Bridgeport Easyturn here at work has an encoder hand wheel
that
can be set so that the x axis is slaved to the z axis. Move the
carrage and the x axis moves as well. Andy

It's more than just space on the Group. If you get individual mails
or view on the web then its easy to skip to the next message but if
you get the Digests or view with "Expand messages" then you have to
scroll through the dross. The <snip> is no work when replying on the
Group or by e-mail - we all need to try to "get the habit".

Best wishes
