Index puls problem SOLVED!

Hi Art

This is a update from the post Problem SOLVED...

I changed pins on the breakout board. I put in lots of time testing
shealding whir es. must be a problem in cabling or something.

ya each time the index puls fires the stepper motor jumps a step or so
with the spindle running the stepper will run slowly or kinda jump one
way and then the other direction. if i remove the pickup unit frpm
the machine every thing works fine

Hi Roy:

Can you explain that a bit, you mean each time you get an index
pulse, the
motor gives a pulse out as well?

Thanks,
Art

Subject: [mach1mach2cnc] Index puls problem

Hi Art:

I am having a problem with index plus. I get a puls on my stepper
motor too. this is not good. I have reruted the wire comming
from the
breakout board and used shealded wire. grounded the sheald on the
breakout board one end only. I do have a ModIo board on order from
peter. would it make any differnce if I run the puls in that card?

I do intend to use a MPG on that board ModIo. Will I get pulses
going
in with the MPG I am using the cnc4pc puls card.
