Art, just wanted to let you know that I have tested J. Cullins' macro
and on my home pc it shows to work good. I will try it on the cnc
tonight and try your system with the button tomorrow.

Re: Driver for Servo and I/O board

Hi Henry:

Sorry, but it would be just about impossible. The Mach2 driver is
extremely tight, Servo-To-Go people took a look at the problem and gave up.
The driver and the OCX are just too strict in the way they do things in a
buffered environment that it doesn't easily translate to anything like doing
a linux driver for it. It could be done, but I doubt you'd want to put in
that kind of work for a single board. Have you coded WDM drivers under NT
before ??

Subject: [mach1mach2cnc] Driver for Servo and I/O board

Hello,

How could I possibly write drivers for my 3rd-party servo-board ? I
have written driver modules for EMC, and I would like to write
similar drivers for Mach2. The board is made by Siemens, and it has
normal servo-controllers (3x +/- 10V out, 3x enc in, 40+ in/out
ports), so it's quite like Servo2Go, but not exactly. It would be
nice to have board operating at Mach2 also, since I recently switched
from EMC. Does Mach2 support "external" driver-modules or dll's ?

Best regards,

Henry "Henkka" Palonen,
Tampere, Finland

PS. I tried to search the archives of this group, but didn't find
anything about "3rd party" drivers.

Hello all,

I made a new screen, starting from scracht, and I think I miss
something. I can?t jog the machine using the keyboard. Anyone knows
what I miss here?

Is it possibile to jog the machine from keyboard if the MDI is in the
same layer (not using the MDI, of course) that I want to jog?

Any thoughts??

Using Mach2Screen from Mach2 Ver 4.0

Regards, Daniel.

Have you looked at the Rutex 991h step/direction to servo +-10
converter card? It should interface between MACH2 and your stock
servo amps. Art will have to address any interface questions to
MACH2 but my understanding is that the pulsing engine for parallel
port output is the core of MACH2 and is the component that allows
MACH2 to output up to 45 KHZ signals with Windows; a feat that up
until Art started with Master5 was considered impossible. Another
driver module or DLL would have to replace the pulsing engine and
would require a serious re-write of core code. That's my
understanding and may be uncorrect but if so Art will let us know.

Rutex Z axis problem--More info

Just to recap the problem I'm having. When ever I make a Z axis
movement it travels farther than it should by about .015". It does
it in the Z+ and Z- directions. It's not always .015" sometimes its
less. Also it's intermittent. It seems to be good in the morning
when I turn it on but over time it starts to happen and when it does
it's intermittent. A move as small as .001 will cause it to happen.
It's maintaining it's accuracy, .001" gives me .001" of movement on
a dial indicator. I can cut for hours and not loose any steps. If I
power up the servo amps alone there's no problem but when I turn on
the drives the Z creeps down .015" then slowly back up.
I don't think it's a tuning problem. I tried switching the drives
and it made no difference. I then tried switching the servo amp
itself and I still had the problem.
I'm wondering if it may be an encoder issue.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks
Derek

keygrabber problem with user key 21 and 22 with same code.

Les, i got a strange problem today with keygrabber.

it seems user key 21 and user key 22 have the same code : 232.

I don't know yet if my problem come from here because it's very
strange. A macro don't work only on 1 screen (it's a button on the P
screen).

She does work on another test machine on all screens but without
keygrabber.

Olivier.

Re: Combi referencing not working.

I tried the 2 formats without success.

i got another problem today with "reference all axis" actual button.
sometimes i have to push the button, the referencing stop after the first
referenced axis, then i need to push again the button to get other axis
referenced. Was never the case before 4.0 release version. Seem to be
related to your modifications too.

Olivier.

The B and V sounds are frequently inverted for words in both (Dog:
kelev,
kalb), also in Spanish (Arabic influence) like the pronunciation of
the word
for 20 which can sound like bentae or ventae

The amount of general knowledge in this group is amazing...

Anyway, I agree, lets try to not offend anyone, religion and
politics are NOT safe discussions anywhere, let alone on Email.
I will ban the automatic placements of religous dogma though, as I
know its really spam pretending to be discourse.... Religion is a
sacred topic to be discussed among ones immediate peers, not on the
net....

Thanks,
Art

Monte:

If you've gotten the Rtuex program to run, then your fine. If using
the motherboard, then you need to jumper the pi9ns for SPI mode of
the board, and add a resistor (100 ohms) between two pins to turn on
digital communications to the board. But if you can read the PID
values from a board, then your fine...

Guys:

The puns are good, but making jokes about any religion runs the risk of
offending some members of the group who may be followers.
It's best to make the jokes off list if you feel that they are important.

As to the derivation of Allah, it's the same root as one of the Hebrew words
for God, El
Since Arabic, Hebrew and Aramaic are all very related languages, many of the
words are similar

Some idiosyncrasies:

The English word Shibboleth (a word used as a password which cannot be
pronounced by an ethnic group - letter "L" by Japanese for example)
literally means "wheat" in Hebrew. Hebrew includes the "sh" sound, while
the Arabic dialect of the area does not, so the Philistines could not
pronounce the word. Many words are the same in both languages when this
sound is swapped:

(ex: Peace: Shalom, Salaam, Five: Khamesh, Khamsah - BTW, the guttural Kh
is a shibboleth sound in English)

Arabic does not include the P, so the sound is frequently substituted to a B
(Panias to Banias)

The B and V sounds are frequently inverted for words in both (Dog: kelev,
kalb), also in Spanish (Arabic influence) like the pronunciation of the word
for 20 which can sound like bentae or ventae

Yes, i confirm this work in real world. We could control mach2 from a
joystick connected on another computer. Could be funny :=)
