Re: Mach4 laser settings
开云体育Chuck, That is what I thought. However if you want to get a response you need to provide gcode in an easy way to vie, not a jpg of part of the code. Also you need to phrase the question so it can be answered. Explain what does work and what does not and as much relevant information about your machine. Eg, I have a blah blah blah stock machine and this gcode works
fine, but this doesn't. I am sure I would not be the person to
answer I am more likely to be the person getting answers on this
forum. On 9/10/2022 8:09 AM, Chuck Kahler

Re: Mach4 laser settings
开云体育Warp9TD.com runs a support forum for the ESS and offers good
technical support there.
?
You do have to creat an account in order to post there, but it
is worth it.

Since I am not getting any input, let me try to simplify my concern. ? I am running Mach4 using ESS.? ? I have output #2 configured with Port 2 Pin 16 to fire my laser utilizing the M 62 and M 63 commands.? ? I’m trying to determine what I am not understanding in using these commands. ie, M62 P# and M63 P#. ? ?Reason I’m asking is the laser works fine using either one of these files below i.e. one has P1 and the other file has P2 but they both work fine.? ? See photo below for a picture of the two G code files.? ? Confused, please help ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? |

Re: Mach4 laser settings
开云体育don't send gcode as jpg if you expect anyone to read it. send as
text. what do you mean by "input" help? people are not going to
spend their time trying to figure out what you are doing/asking.
what is your gcode, what is your setup, what is the problem. what
works, what doesn't? On 9/9/2022 9:11 PM, Chuck Kahler

Mach4 laser settings
? Let me explain: ? Based on this taken from warp 9??ESS set-up??instructions for Mach4; “…..M62P#s allow the precise starting of the laser with the starting of a G00, G01, G02 or G03 based motion command and the precise termination of the laser burn with a M63P# and the next motion command.” ? But in my case, Mach4 is set up to use P2 but the G code is operating fine using P1 ? ?

? What Am I not understanding, any input would be appreciated. ? Thanks, Chuck |
Re: CraftCNC uses a Dremel 3000
There is nothing controlling the Dremmel ON/OFF or spindle speed.
Your steps motors are driven with a controller which reads if not standard G-Code a similar language to move the XYZ axis by increment in inches or millimeters. You may have to remove the header and footer information of the generated G-Code program from Aspire to make it compatible for the controller. Usually CAD/CAM Software comes with a perfect tuned up postprocessors fully compatible with the CNC. This is what I got from Gravotech and their 3D Artistic software, TYPE EDIT: ? |

CraftCNC uses a Dremel 3000
I'm almost finished 3d Printing the parts for this free project that I found on Design and Make's website.? I started printing 10 days ago, and should be
finished by next Sunday or sooner, so the next fun part is assembly... Here is a link for the free project.?? It uses grbl for its simple controller, but since I'm buying stepper motors, why can't I create a Mach 3 profile for Vectric sotfware to use for modeling? There has to be some kind of You Tube video for programming? Mach 3 for KISS level projects for beginners? Thanks, Tamra |
Re: single block
开云体育Hi Joemac, It is the OLD way of testing a program .. You would load up the
file and press single block a million times to dry run the file
and make sure the Dist to go is correct and all that jazz. Frankly
I see little to no value in Single Block. I test my code by
running with the FRO and RRO at zero when I start the file. I run
nice and slow on my first run and after that we are green flag
racing :) . Now one thing that Single block is good for, is
pausing the program at the end of a move. because it will allow
the move you are currently on (or whatever you have for blended
moves) to finish and stop at the end of the move. That's a handy
feature but again I never use it. I was originally trained to use Single Block but after working in
industry and having to get some volume of work done I quickly
changed my ways :) . But for some old habits die hard and they
really hang on that feature so it is really important to them.
Because of that, that is why we redid all the lookahead, feedhold
and singleblock code. It is so complex to do single block in a
buffered control that it took about 4 months to get it working as
we wanted!
Enough of me telling what I think :)
Thanks
