I've noticed that if I change the soft limits even a little bit or
turn them on/off, I'll have to restart Mach2 before they work at all.
A couple of times the limits have completely stopped working, but the
operation resumed again when I replaced the corrupted Mach2 XML file
with a good backup copy. This XML file seems to be like the notorious
Windows registry - if it breaks, you'll get some very unexpected
behaviour. Also the soft limit safety approach distance has to be
generous enough for the movement to stop smoothly. I'm using version
3.50g.
