Thomas,
I use one limit sensor on my Z axis, two on my X axis and one on my Y axis
with two targets.

Bob,
Thanks, but I think what I was really asking is how many total sensors
will or should I use for my setup? Including limit and home switches.
Thanks again,
Thomas Powell

Thomas,
I like to use one limit sensor on each end of travel for my X and Y
axis.
This is mostly for safety reasons.
On my Y axis, I ended up placing two targets and one sensor. Mach2
knows
the direction of travel so you can get buy with one sensor and a second
target for the inductive proximity sensor.
