They don't work, Mach3 needs a real parallel port.
Those adapters screw up the timing for the stepper pulses, I guess they'd work ok for simple stuff like turning air or coolant on & off.? Not sure I'd trust it for limit switches (again, timing problems).

You could try one of these, not sure if Mach3 will recognize it though....
