Re: Smoothing text

vcarve may have options as to step size? with some exceptions related to trajectory planning in mach 4 i have found that mach 4 produces smoother cuts. however i think the biggest change was switching to ethernet smooth stepper.

also you need to control chip load by varying motion speed and tool speed.? also need to be sure both the material hold down and the machine in general are rigid. different woods are different and cut differently. some wood is especially difficult to cut smoothly due to variations in hardness and grain.

also tool quality is very important. i get much smoother cuts with high quality US made tools such as Eastside

Hey let me ask yall a question. Does mach3 have anything to do with the smoothness of a cut. I just cut some letters and they are ragged looking. I'm using VCarve Pro. Is the vcarve the place I should be looking instead.
