I found, back when I was using Mach3, that I had to use a combination of them in order to really get anything done. ? ? ? I think ifinally got it working but i have been having strange problems trying to use screen4. using compatibility mode i can run screen4 on win 10 64 bit but the resulting screens are strange. no matter what resolution i choose the screens are very small on the target machine. i had gotten some screens to work before with normal resolution but at some point they all come out small. when i look at the screen in screen4 there is a widget that was placed when i did intentionally place it on the screen but it also got placed way out of register with everything else and this widget can not be removed. the widget does not show up when running mach3 but it looks like the overall size of the screen was scaled to include the non showing widget. i tried running screen4 on the only xp machine i have and it crashes as soon as i select a screen to open.? i then found another screen editor (mach3screen) and used it to open the defective screen and save it with another name. now the screen works. so what does this mean? is screen 4 not to be used? i could not get screen3 to work before but i think it might be because i did not use compatibility mode and the floating pallet did not show up making the editor useless.? anyway i have it working but want to know what to do to avoid something like this happening in the future when i have forgotten all this mess. should i delete all instances of screen4 ? does it just not work reliably? is there a version that does work? i probably tried several different versions from different pl;aces in my files.
