Re: Pokeys problems fixed mosstly

i thought that changing active low was the way to do it but with the Pokeys this has no effect. i have not tried the reverse axis direction in homing/limits. sounds like that should work.

i was so proud of the fact that i was able to finally get the router working with the new little computer that i demonstrated jogging to a friend. at one point it went completely crazy and crashed into a limit switch.? now that i know there is portential i want to dedicate the computer to the router and remove everything not necessary. the computer came with office and a bunch of other stuff. so i am going to image the drive and then remove everything possible. will have the image in case things just can't be made to work reliably. so here are some questions for after the imaging. i want to make the machine as lean and clean as possible. it will not connect online so i will turn off virus and firewall.

there is a guy called the black viper who has maintained lists of necessary and not services for windows. i have used his list several times over many years. any thoughts about this with respect to mach3?

there is a bunch of stuff that used to be optional in windows but now can not be turned off or uninstalled by the usual methods. are there any secret ways? things like the browser whatever they call it, some windows phone stuff task scheduler etc.?

and another question about Pokeys. i really want to keep mach3 because i am familiar with it and also because i really want to keep my custom screens. if i want to try mach4 can i install it and the Pokeys plugin for mach4 without losing all i finally got to work with mach3 and the Pokeys plugin for mach3?

?

No, there's a "Home Negative" which determines homing direction, and a "Reverse" which changes axis direction. Both are in Config > Homing/Limits.

You can also toggle Active Low in ports and pins to change direction as well.

There is a reverse option in the ports and pins dialog for general direction instructions. The one in the?Homing/Limits dialog is just to determine which direction to go to home to suit your needs.
