Hi fellow operators?
I am looking for a power switch and? button cap for my 998. I have pretty much exhausted thingybay and amazon, Aliexpress etc are a no go and I cant find a UK stockist that does that size of button cap. The 6 pin switch I can source so can anyone point me to either a complete switch/button cap assy or just the button cap please. Failing that has anyone stripped one for spares? Regards Garry. |

MFJ-1263
Hello,?
I don't know if I'm being stupid or I just cant see it in the manual.? I have a Yaesu FT-847 and an FT 101D I use a mix of Microphones, But want to tidy the desk and only use two so I bought the MFJ-1263 Microphone/Radio switch.? (Microphones are Yaesu M100, Heil Pro 7 and Heil HM12 and MH31 on the Ft-847) I can't seem to find any information on the pin settings for Yaesu to Yaesu in the manual.? Like I stated, I'm probably being stupid and am missing it completely.? Please put me out of my misery.?? |

Re: Search: Schematic MFJ-434
Sorry Daniel, I do not know the answer to your question, however, one can assume that the B version is a later version, and as such, may be better (or why make a B version). So, my inclination would be to check it out using the schematic in the manual and if necessary modify to make it a B version.?
Some of the MFJ equipment the only differences between versions are in cosmetics, some better performance due to tighter controls. It is of course possible that the supply of proms dried up and they changed proms, so that would be the first place to look, you are going to have to compare the schematic and sort of reverse engineer your device. What I have done in the past in a similar situation is to make a copy of the schematic, and as I trace the actual paths on the device, I use a highlighter on the schematic indicating that the trace or component is physically same. It is time consuming and somewhat arduous, but necessary to confirm they are the same. Hope that helps -- Jeff - NZ2S |
Re: Schematic MFJ/Vectronics VEC-1380
Yes, I have been in touch with MFJ. I emailed them twice with no response, and was able to get to them via phone after several tries. The guy in tech support said he would look for one and email it to me, but as yet I have received nothing. When I spoke to the receptionist, she said that they were all at the Orlando Hamfest. I'll keep waiting, but in the meantime I thought I would try other sources.
Thanks for your response. -- 73 Clif K5LIF |

It even says 1.5 kilowatt series on the front of it. Most of the time, MFJ over rates the power handling capabilities of their tuners. In this case, I do not think so. This is the original MFJ 962 -- not the newer D or E version, which are much lighter duty. This one has some "oomph" to it. Of course it has a switch to switch to different antenna, and has a wattmeter/SWR bridge with a large meter. This one works as it should. Cosmetically it is exceptional. I can not find any scratches or defects. Buy this one with paper work for $225 . All of these are MFJ HF Antenna Tuners. Schematic MFJ/Vectronics VEC-1380
I'm looking for a schematic for the VEC-1380K. I picked one up at a recent hamfest. I want to get into it possibly modifying it for lower down the band. The only schematic I can find is the downloaded pdf from MFJ or the various manual download sites. All of them are basically unreadable even when I max out the print quality on my printer. A clean scan of the printed manual would be great.
Thanks. 73 Clif K5LIF |
MFJ-993B LC Limits
If anyone has any experience, could you please tell me how
this adjustment is performed. From my reading by default it's prevented so high voltage and damage won't happen. It's suppose to allow slightly more or less capacitance and inductance than what's available by default. I run low power and wanted to find out if either more or less cap/Ind would help with some tuning. I have read the manual a few times and I am still a bit confused how you extend the range. thanks Ken N1KK |
