MFJ-993B LC Limits
If anyone has any experience, could you please tell me how
this adjustment is performed. From my reading by default it's prevented so high voltage and damage won't happen. It's suppose to allow slightly more or less capacitance and inductance than what's available by default. I run low power and wanted to find out if either more or less cap/Ind would help with some tuning. I have read the manual a few times and I am still a bit confused how you extend the range. thanks Ken N1KK |
Re: MFJ 1708B-SDR
OK? This the loss between the ports..? so power on? (? Not in TX )?
From ANT connection to the SDR? it has 2 db of loss? should have? 0 DB? or no loss ( shorted ) From ANT connection to the radio? its shows -50 db of loss? or you could say open? no connection.. So when the sdr is receiving the radio is not receiving at all .. ? when in TX? it seems to work right? Ant to XCVR ( radio) =? 0DBM? or shorted? Ant to SDR=?? > -60 Dbm across? band? 2-30 mhz? or open my question is? why 2 db of loss should be shorted .. or no LOSS Skip |
MFJ Ant Tuners, Ant, Speaker and more FS
MFJ Antenna Tuners, HF Antenna, Speaker,
and more For Sale: . MFJ-962 High Power HF Antenna Tuner: The MFJ-962 HF antenna tuner will handle full legal power with ease. It even says 1.5 kilowatt series on the front of it. Most of the time, MFJ over rates the power handling capabilities of their tuners. In this case, I do not think so. This is the original MFJ 962 -- not the newer D or E version, which are much lighter duty. This one has some "oomph" to it. Of course it has a switch to switch to different antenna, and has a wattmeter/SWR bridge with a large meter. This one works as it should. Cosmetically it is exceptional. I can not find any scratches or defects. Buy this one with paper work for $225 . All of these are MFJ HF Antenna Tuners. All work 100% like they should, and cosmetically look like new, with no scratches. All include instruction manuals. MFJ 9201 "QRPocket Tuner" 12 position inductor switch. BNC connectors in and out on front panel. Great to use with MFJs single band QRP rigs. Easy to carry in your back pack. In its original box for $60. MFJ 901 B Black enclosure. 160 thru 10 m, at 200 Watts according to MFJ. They say it's designed to match virtually any transmitter to almost any antenna. SO-239 connectors in and out on back panel. Includes built in 4:1 balun. $100 MFJ 16010 ST Same electrically as MFJ 901 B, but in a nice deluxe woodgrain TenTec enclosure. $90 . MFJ 281 "Clear Tone" Speaker: The MFJ-281 ClearTone speaker was carefully designed to improve the intelligibility of speech in the frequency range of 600 to 4000Hz while reducing undesirable noise, static, and hum. A top grade 3 inch Mylar cone speaker is mounted in a well designed speaker baffle. A fine mesh metal grille allows sound to radiate without being muffled. A versatile swivel mounting bracket lets you direct sound where you want it. 8 Watts 8 Ohms 6ft cord, 3.5mm mono plug. Compact 3 3/4 x 3 x 2 1/4 inches Incredible Sound This one sounds terrific. Cosmetically, it looks like it just came out of the package new. Buy it for only $15 . MFJ 1836 Cob Web HF Antenna: This six-band (20, 17, 15, 12, 10, 6 Meters) full half-wave Cobweb Antenna is perfect for restricted space or portable operation. Sky-gray fiberglass spreaders and nearly invisible wire elements (flat 9x9x1/2 feet square. 8 pounds), blend in with your surroundings while standing tough against nasty weather. Outstanding performance! No radials needed! Works great at low heights. Use lightweight TV hardware to mount on your chimney, balcony, or mast. This one works fine, and looks really great. All hardware is stainless, so no corrosion. It is presently assembled. Pick up near Ocala, FL is much preferred. Shipping would be very expensive. Buy it with paperwork for $175, . MFJ-1313 Wall Wart Power Supply 12 V DC at 100 ma, 2.8 mm plug; $14 . I also have many other accessories available such as many different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs, HF and VHF/UHF antennas, connectors, miscellaneous accessories, etc. Just too many to list here. Please e-mail your requests. . Prices do not include shipping from Florida. Thanks. 73, Ken, W8EK Ken Simpson E-mail to W8EK@... or W8EK@... Voice Phone (352) 732-8400 . |
MFJ 1708B-SDR
All, This does not seem right..
Powered on?? ANT to XCVR=? -50DBM to -35 DBM? ( 2 Mhz,30Mhz) ANT to SDR= -2dbm across frequencies 2-30 Mhz?? Power on in TX Ant to XCVR=? 0DBM Ant to SDR=?? > -60 Dbm across? band? 2-30 mhz Question is WHY is there a 2 DB Loss from ant to SDR in RX ?? ? and why is there a -50 db loss to XCVR port..?? Seems that it should also be 0 dbm for both.. HELP? Skip PS? MFJ doesn't respond to my emails.. |
Re: Changing The Coax Connector on MFJ-4601, Window ANT Feedthru
I ordered the 4602 entry panel from them, but I ordered it with N connectors instead of PL style, and there was no extra charge. PL-259 fittings are junk in my opinion, and are best used for audio applications, cause that's about the limit of their frequency response!

Re: Changing The Coax Connector on MFJ-4601, Window ANT Feedthru
开云体育Thank you for all that replied with ?answers. I just received the MPD female connecter I ordered. ? Hopefully it will warmup a little in the next week or so, It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to replace. Then I can replace the insulation in between the windows. ? ? Re: Changing The Coax Connector on MFJ-4601, Window ANT Feedthru
I changed some. No problem loosen the nut and out it comes you don't need to mess with the panel. The problem is that a standard N barrel isn't long enough to seat a male on both sides you need a longer barrel.
I used a "MPD Digital 3-Inch Extra Long N Type Female Threaded Bulkhead Barrel Adapter" from Amazon?? ? ?? |
Changing The Coax Connector on MFJ-4601, Window ANT Feedthru
开云体育I have an older MFJ-4601, I would like to change one of the SO-239 to a “N” type connector. I was wondering how hard is this going to be? Are the panels glued to the board? I don’t want to destroy this in the process. I have a 1.2ghz antenna, it uses “N” connector. ? Thanks in advance. Thomas Mackell Sr KI4FRU Sent from for Windows ? |
Scammer "MFJ" website
There is a scammer site that's been reported to the FTC. From MFJ's site:
"There is a SCAM website currently advertising as MFJ. Please be aware that this site is not MFJ Enterprises, Inc. We have reported this to the Federal Trade Commission. Do not purchase anything from scammer website." This is the REAL site: Also note that if you allow them to have your email address, you can get a free copy of a book, 73 DIPOLE AND LONG-WIRE ANTENNAS. There is a link on the above page to do that. HOWEVER, their link to subscribe and get that is broken. I suggest contacting them and arranging to get the book for free. It's not a book you'd sell your soul for, but it's free, and it may give some members ideas on simple wire antennas. The book is for sale for $24.95, a bit overpriced in my opinion, but they appear to have bought the rights to it and it's out of print except there. To do this ethically, you should sign up for their email list, but I don't see how to do that with their broken site. Then you are taken to the URL below, where you click on the words: "Click Here" and that gets you the publication at the URL below. So you can get it there if you wish; it takes you to a Google Drive document in PDF. It's an OLD book, first published in 1969, and I think it was then distributed by 73 Magazine, a Wayne Greene publication. If SWR is close to 1:1, then there would be no need to tune. This would especially be the case if you were using that band previously. If you're putting out close to 100W, and SWR is low, then there's no need for the unit to go into the tune mode. MFJ 993B Intellituner & 30 meters (10MHZ)
Hi I am using an Icom 7300 with my MFJ 993B Intellituner with the MFJ interface cable. I notice today that the tuner would not tune up 10MHZ. I normally tune at 20 watts power. But then again if the antenna is already resonate for that frequency then I may not see anything happen I do not know. I normally tune anything from a 3.5 swr to 1.1 swr.?

MFJ-993BRT
Robert
I recently made some repair work on my MFJ-993BRT tuner.
Unfortunately I forgotten to check the followig: 1. Can the switch board (atop the main pcb) be easily removed? 2. IMO the tuner should work normally with the switch board removed. 3. Is the microcontroller U1 (PIC16F76-I/SP) read protected? Thanks for any reply, Robert W4BCZ |
