Show us your M17 setups/capabilities!

Tell us what you use to get on air (or just over the Internet) with M17. Photos are welcomed.

I currently have:
- DroidStar running on my smartphone. I used it mostly for the Friday's net (now it's called "activity day").
- 1.0 connected to a Yaesu FTM-6000 (UHF).
- ZUM Spot RPi v0.6 with
- with app running on my PC to send short text messages over RF ( offer voice mode support instead).
- CS760 ( prototype) handheld running
- Gameboy Advance running a , generating baseband of the M17 packet mode.
- Various SDRs running with M17 GNU Radio blocks ().

Right now, I've got DroidStar running on my Android?phone, plus Linux and Mac laptops. I have a CS7000-M17 on order, so I should be actually over-the-air soon. No M17 repeaters in Maine, so QSOs without using the internet are a ways off. I may have to drive to NH to try out?KC1AWV's repeater.

I currently have:

1) Module 17 0.1e connected to a Yaesu FTM-6000R.
2) Pi-star hotspot running WPSD connecting to the same FTM-6000R or an FTM-100DR.
3) CS7000-M17 HT running OpenRTX.
4) MMDVM repeater in Claremore, OK on 444.35 that has an M17 net once a week at 1700 UTC on Saturdays.
5) HackRF SDR that I use to play around with SDRAngel.

Steve:

Re: your Maxon unit:
* Where did you buy it and what was the cost?
* Are the mods you made for bringing out flat audio described somewhere?

A 5W UHF Maxon with flat audio might be a great student / beginner radio for data and M17.

Thanks!

Hi Steve!

I purchased a few Maxon SD125's off of ebay for $22 each.

As far as I'm aware there are no modification instructions.? However, I would be glad to share my own notes, additional photos, caveats etc in a different topic thread if interested.

Currently, I have:

Infrastructure:
- MI7JTA MMDVM running a heavily hacked version of Pi-Star, with 2 radios configured as a repeater.
- BI7JTA duplex hotspot running a hand built MMDVM software stack.

Clients/terminals:
- CS7000-M17 running OpenRTX.
- Module17 connected to my FT-818.
- MMDVM running M17Client, which can also use the FT-818.
- TNC3 with Android phone (app doesn't like my phone so this is tricky to get going).
- Digirig, which can theoretically work with M17tools (doesn't like my laptop) or the text messaging client (not yet tested).
- PlutoSDR with SDR++, which I use mainly for testing my setups and transmitter adjustment.

I forgot to mention that I also have DroidStar on an Android tablet and a Windows PC, in addition to all of the RF options.

All the Steves need to share the modification and setup notes!

As I mentioned on the air with KA4YMY, I may be going to Charlotte for work sometime in the near future, so he and I could possibly meet up depending on availability. At the very least, I could pop on the repeater while down there.
