I prefer neither.

I have no awareness of what the Canadian government is doing about

Little, if any.
5.? ?Have

Well, it started here, but didn't cause any real problems for

1. Would you rather watch a debate between Biden and Trump or have dinner with a skunk?
Definitely watch the debate between Biden and Trump. That would be quite entertaining, and I'm undecided as to who would perform worse. The debate will not happen, Trump will never agree to it. Biden as president, has to speak to the country at times, and can't hide his decline. But Trump can hide his decline, by only talking at rally's, where only his cult-followers and political junkies are paying attention. Trump knows this (or at least his team knows it and will convince him of it.) A debate will help Biden, by making it clear that Trump is suffering from as much dementia and forgetfulness as he is, but the debate will only hurt Trump by making everyone else aware of his dementia and forgetfulness. That is the biggest reason why Trump didn't participate in the Republican debates.
2.? Do you agree that Trudeau's emergency order was unconstitutional - as reported from a Canadian court decision today?
I have no idea what his order was. I would trust the Canadian courts to know if it was unconstitutional (was this a Supreme Court or an appellate court?)? So I'll lean towards his emergency order being unconstitutional, but I really don't know.
3.? ?Is being unable to remember a viable defense to charges of mishandling official documents?
Does it matter when someone has the 5th amendment right to not incriminate themselves? Invoking the 5th, or saying "I don't remember" (which is commonly done in trials) isn't an actual defense, but it also can't legally be used against the person. I think the context would depend on whether I'd believe the person was lying or not--did the mishandling happen 40 years ago, or last year?
4.? Do you think a third party candidate will have a significant effect on this years presidential election?
No. RFK JR is the only "strong" (relatively speaking) 3rd party candidate with name recognition. And his mixture of very liberal/leftist ideas and crazy Q/anti-vax ideas will appeal to very few people. Not to mention he so far has very little ballot access. The Green party has some controversial figures running, as well as perennial loser Jill Stein.? I don't see any of the potential Libertarian party candidates gaining any ground.? And the other 3rd parties won't have enough ballot access to even theoretically make a difference.

Invoking the 5th, or saying "I don't remember" (which is commonly done in trials) isn't an actual defense, but it also can't legally be used against the person. I think the context would depend on whether I'd believe the person was lying or not--did the mishandling happen 40 years ago, or last year?
The Green party has some controversial figures running, as well as perennial loser Jill Stein. I don't see any of the potential Libertarian party candidates gaining any ground. And the other 3rd parties won't have enough ballot access to even theoretically make a difference.
5. Have you been effected by the atmospheric rivers that hit the West Coast of the US this week -and which are extending weather all the way to the east coast?
No, fortunately not.

Re: Biden can't recall...
" And Biden clearly knows that he is in over his head, and is wise enough to let others make the decisions."-Rhonda
Don't you?think that if he knows he is in over his head, that he'd be wise enough not to run for re-election? That quip of him saying that the head of Egypt was the head of Mexico is disturbing.? Clearly, he's sundowning and should have left the?podium earlier. Ed

? ?<<I think for most voters it came down to the lesser of two evils.? Unfortunately in my opinion they chose the wrong one.>>
I agree with the lesser of two evils….which is why I voted for Jorgensen in 2020.? But I do believe the right person won. Better a doddering, elderly man (Biden) who has trouble with his memory, than a raging, traitorous elderly man (Trump) who wishes to be a dictator.? And, for anyone who has been following Trump’s rally’s around the country over the past year, Trump’s memory is rapidly declining. In 2024, the election will be about who do we think will have the advisors who will best run the country, and that is clearly Biden. Economy is great—stock market all time high, longest sustained period of very ?low unemployment, inflation decreasing each month for over a year. And Biden clearly knows that he is in over his head, and is wise enough to let others make the decisions. Not so with Trump, Trump does whatever he wants and cares nothing about who he hurts—witness his personally calling congresspeople telling them to vote against the border bill—which had *everything* that Republicans had been claiming needed to be done to fix the border, and *nothing* that Democrats have been wanting (DACA,) for the sole reason that he doesn’t want anything problems solved under Biden.
A better presidential election would have had Newsom against Hailey….2 people, who regardless of what one thinks of their politics, are articulate and smart. Instead we get Groundhog Day…..Trump vs Biden.

Re: Friday Five February 9
1.? Would you rather watch a debate between Biden and Trump or have dinner with a skunk?
I actually like to see the debates.? They are both flawed, and they both make egregious mistakes, but it tells me something about them, such as how out of control Trump is these days, and how senile Biden really is.
2.? Do you agree that Trudeau's emergency order was unconstitutional - as reported from a Canadian court decision today?
I don't know anything about it.
3.? ?Is being unable to remember a viable defense to charges of mishandling official documents?
No.? People get convicted of crimes that they committed when they were drunk and don't remember, such as vehicular?manslaughter when a DWI kills someone.
4.? Do you think a third party candidate will have a significant effect on this years presidential election?
No; I don't think any of them are strong enough to tip the scales in any state. 5.? ?Have you been effected by the atmospheric rivers that hit the West Coast of the US this week -and which are extending weather all the way to the? ? ? ? ? east coast?
No, but just a few miles west of here are the western slope of the mountains surrounding LA, and they've had some problems.
