The country of my early childhood died sixty years ago . I'm living in an alien civilization. It's interesting, instructive, and thoroughly depressing. If I'd been watching, I'd have seen it coming as long ago as the mid sixties, though of course it's been traveling to where it is now for centuries. Harris will be Biden II.
