1.? Should Victronix remove the blades from their Swiss Army knivees?
Sure, if they think that is the best business decision. I have no idea what Victronix is or what the issue with their blades in Swiss Army knives is.
2.? Who do you think was the most influential military officer of World War II?
I can¡¯t even fathom a guess. Eisenhower? I think he was? military officer¡.although I¡¯m not sure of what war.
3.? Do you think the Dow Jones Averages will finish over 40,000 on any given day this year?
Yes. With it at record high, I think 40,000 is very likely.
4.? Are you going to go on vacation this summer?
No plans. Although I guess anything is possible at the last minute.
5.? Should a president have the capability of rescinding an executive order posted by a predecessor?
Yes. If it is lawful for a president to issue an order, of course it would be lawful for the next president to rescind it. I think executive orders are way over used, but such is the time we live in.
1.? The Boy Scouts have proposed taking the word boy out of the name - what do you think of this?
The might as well. They have allowed girls in for many years now, so since it¡¯s co-ed, why continue calling it Boy Scouts? With the highest honor being an Eagle Scout, maybe change the base name to Fledgling Scouts.
2.? Was the death of the president of Iran an accident or deliberate action by someone unknown?
I think most likely it is accidental. There is certainly every reason to think it is accidental¡..flying in bad weather in a mountain area. And while President Raisi was pretty powerful, and definitely hated¡he was just a pale 2nd in command to Iran¡¯s Supreme Leader. Sure, it would have been easy to take him out with some radar interference at a time when everyone would presume it was accidental, but for what benefit? The vice-president taking his place is rumored to be just as bad. And with Iranian elections known to be rigged and most voters not even bothering to vote because of the rigging, its safe to assume that whoever wins the replacement election will be just as bad.
So while I can¡¯t rule out the possibility of foul play, with their seeming to be nothing to be gained by his death, I think most likely it is accidental.
3.? ?What advice would you give your younger self?
?
Good question. I turned out OK, and all my bad experiences were perhaps crucial learning experiences, so I¡¯m not sure I should change anything. I would probably just hug my younger self and promise that things will get better, to just keep going.
4? ? Do you think Donald Trump will be convicted in the latest trial?
?
Yes. The evidence showing his guilt is overwhelming, and their was pretty much no defense to rebute. I am certain he will be found guilty, but he will be giving a nothing sentence due to his stature, instead of prison time like anyone else who committed that crime would be doing. (Indeed, his former lawyer has already served prison time for his role in the crime that Trump is on trial for.)
5.? Will this presidential election signal an end to the Post War Generation in politics?
Post what war? Post Iraqi war? Or do you mean Baby Boomers? If Baby Boomers, no, Baby Boomers are living longer and healthier than ever. Gen X is the smallest generation, and rampant Covid denialism has reduced their number prematurely with deaths from COVID. The younger generations just don¡¯t vote in the percentages, much less the numbers, that Baby Boomers vote in.
