Re: G11G mount with Sharpcap and Stellarium?
Hi John, I¡¯m a bit late to the party but here¡¯s my 2 cents. Stellarium works very nicely with the Gemini via USB. You just need to configure the mount control plugin in Stellarium, install your

Re: Carrying case recommendations needed for G11G
The concept is great with the bases to attach the 2 parts to, but I was expecting them to be made of wood and aluminum like typical road cases. The corner plastic parts were already splitting out of

Re: Carrying case recommendations needed for G11G
Delany told me I bought the last pair of cases they had. I don't know why they discontinued them - I use them for car trips which we frequently do in the summer months when it gets too hot to image in

Re: Carrying case recommendations needed for G11G
I use the two cases that Losmandy makes/made. They their bases have plates where the two axis attach securely. Their covers are somewhat flimsy, but the important bits use metal clamps. I don't see

Re: G11G mount with Sharpcap and Stellarium?
Hi John, if you've not seen this yet, there's a whole website dedicated to Gemini that could help answer a lot of your questions, including detailed guides, FAQs, screen shots, photos, etc.:

Re: G11G mount with Sharpcap and Stellarium?
There is an Ethernet port on the Gemini box itself.? The advantage of ethernet is that it puts your gemini on your home or other local network, and then you can 'log in' to it with the Gemini.net

Re: G11G mount with Sharpcap and Stellarium?
Ken, I am going to admit my ignorance here... I have never used an ethernet connection before, and know nothing about how it works. I currently use a USB connection between my current mount (EQ6) and

Re: Carrying case recommendations needed for G11G
I guess I'm an astro-slob but I just put the mount head on the driver side seat. If I wanted a case (such as to ship the case via an airline) then I'd just get a suitably sized Pelican, or similar

Re: Carrying case recommendations needed for G11G
Hi John, If the cost of buying a couple of the Milwaukee tool hauler and an additional tool box and organizer is not an issue and you don't mind spray paint to fix the ugly RED color that is the best

Re: Questions on polar scope for G11G
In my iPhone app store, it is called Polar Scope Align. The icon on the phone screen says PS Align - sorry for any confusion. I used the app briefly when I had an iOptron CEM60 - which I returned to

Re: Use of hand controller while using PC control?
Yes, ?absolutely. Gemini has multiple input ports, and they can all work together: serial/HC, USB, ethernet, autoguider. Regards, -Paul

Use of hand controller while using PC control?
If I am using Gemini 2 PC control (using my mouse at my PC), is the hand controller still usable at the same time? In particular, will the directional arrows on the hand controller still work to slew

Re: Questions on polar scope for G11G
Maybe I missed it somewhere in this string, but if I get the G11G polar scope, are there detailed instructions (or a video) that show how to install and align/calibrate it? That was important for my

Re: G11G mount with Sharpcap and Stellarium?
John - the baud rate is just for use with the non-ethernet connections. Once you connect with ethernet it is just what the nic card supports (10mb I expect) Good luck, Ken

I agree with David above.? Just use SharpCap.? IMO I would stay away from PoleMaster.? QHY SW is very problematic on newer HW and Windows 11.? I got a Losmandy polar scope with my G11G had have

Thanks very much for your detailed response! I¡¯ll have to give some thought to whether to keep all parts in the same case or separate them. For me the total weight will be the thing that drives my
