Re: iPolar Running on Win11?

As I said, the camera and software work just fine and update rapidly.? I gave you the version information.? Does your QHY software and driver match the sane versions?? If not, seek the answer there.? I am not running any special video software.? I am running into a USB 2.0? hub that goes into a USB3 port on this Laptop.?

QHY support is telling people to play a MP3 video to fix the screen refresh problem.? If one of my SW developers told users that this was a work around when I was at Intel I would have them fired....!??

I have several low quality video's of Pink Floyd on my laptop.

Re: Losmandy GM8/GM11 Encoder Kit

Good analogy!? Goto operation certainly loses most of the magic for visual observing, but then, IMHO the real experience is not a DSC equipped GEM, but an alt-az mount with no encoders, no polar align, nothing but old-skool star hopping !??

Best regards,
Daniel

Re: Hand controller not manually slewing via arrows

Yes, the physical hand controller.

Thanks. I¡¯ll test these ideas out. Can¡¯t recall offhand. Will report back.

Re: Hand controller not manually slewing via arrows

Hi chuck

Are you referring to the physical hand controller?

I recall something about nina 3 point alignment parking the mount (or stopping tracking) after completing, so you might check to see if it's tracking

Also a couple other things:
- make sure your speed is slew and not guide
- you must be on the home screen for any direction buttons to work on the HC

Are these two in conflict? Is there a setting somewhere I need to toggle between them? Or ???

Re: Issues With Losmandy Polar Scope and QHY PoleMaster

Regarding the polar alignment, as a stopgap you could do a drift alignment.? You can do it visually, or use PHD2.

Bob

Re: Issues With Losmandy Polar Scope and QHY PoleMaster

I also get an error with WIN10 when using the Polemaster app, where the refresh of the image lags in the 10s of seconds, which equals not usable for PA.

I have found that if I run an video in the background it "forces" the system to enable the Polemaster to refresh the image, and then it works.? ?

There are a few tech websites that offer possible WINDOWS config settings that may help; I had no success, so just run a video in the background.

How do you read,?2 x encoders (311,296 steps)? I'd sure like to read the "installation instruction booklet" before I laid out the cash.

Virus-free.
The 311K encoders are pretty good when used with a Nexus DSC. You cannot move the mount by hand fast enough to over run the Nexus DSC, I tried it clutches fully loos with an epmty saddle on the GM8G, I yanked the CW shaft as fast as I could and no errors happend! Apparently the port sample rate is high enough to never miss an increment. The newer Nexus DSC Pro is even faster @ 100 million tics per second. So I guess the Nexus DSCs are fast enough even with what appear to be a pretty high tic count.?
