Re: Permanent Pier Parking... behavior seems wrong
What you described is correct and I had my system set at Warm Start instead of Warm Reboot.? Think I'm going to change my system to prompt first, that way I can select the appropriate restart.?
Re: Permanent Pier Parking... behavior seems wrong
Russ, I think I followed your steps. Is this listing of the steps right? You have a Gemini-2. (G-1 has no option for Warm Restart) Put mount at CWD. G-2 is off. You power on G-2 the first time. Boot

Re: Permanent Pier Parking
Russ, If you want to restart the mount anywhere other than at the CWD position, you need to use Warm *Restart* , not Warm Start. Warm Start expects the mount to be in the CWD position when you select

Re: Permanent Pier Parking
Problem:? I used Warm Start tonight and as usual had my scope parked at CWD.? I can slew the scope anywhere and when I say park at CWD, it does. Now, I then slewed the scope to point East and

Re: RegiStar software
The plugin is included with CCDInspector, but you can buy it separately for less than half the price. Just look for CCDIS/p plugin download. Regards, -Paul

Re: RegiStar software
Thanks Paul...yes I've been using CCDstack for quite a while now. From what I see, to use the plugin you also need CCDInspecter, Right? If I can't get RegiStar going again, I may look into that...

Re: RegiStar software
Ah, yes, I understand. If you decide to stay with CCDStack, you may want to try the CCDIS/p CCDStack plugin (full disclosure: I wrote it) to do the same type of alignment, rotation and even scale

Re: RegiStar software
Yeah Paul I can but I do multi night imaging ...sometimes a month apart due to weather and I get a little bit of rotation...CCDStack is a bit of trouble to eliminate the rotation. Registar did a great

Re: RegiStar software
Stu, can't you use CCDStack to align and stack? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do. Regards, -Paul

Re: RegiStar software
yeah it seems pretty pricey for the limited functions it does and it sounds like it's not doing it that well for you right now :(

Re: RegiStar software
Yeah...I realized that but didn't think I'd say anything. I can make it work but I have to prealign in CCDStack first...Not sure what the problem is but that's a fair amount of $ for something that

I always had issues stacking images in Registax (I use it for the wavelets and only Registax for planetary images).? I find PIPP (freeware) to be much easier for stacking images. Are you using

Thanks Russ...I'm not sure what the question is! I've had this software just a few days now. The first set of images I input to it worked like a champ. I think it was about 30 or so...actually I input

Re: Homing Switches?
There is always Port E but you would need to write software and install a couple of switches for it to work and then there is always the issue of DEC rotation messing up the works so I don't think

Re: Permanent Pier Parking
Russ, My setup is on a permanent pier in a ROR observatory.? I set my "Home" position to be 90 degrees, where my counterweight bar is level to the deck, and park at Home when I finish observing.?
