Re: multi-star PHD2!
I've got the scope out again tonight ,and I am so happy with the results. RMS ranged from .4 to .6 This is the best I've ever seen it. It almost hit .3 Wow. I think that I'm liking this new multi-star

reading from the community here as to whether the guide log for a GUIDED session actually reflects the pointing errors for that guided session. I found your log from an earlier post When I choose

Bryn, As Brian mentioned, each time you press the Menu button, the Gemini-1 toggles between: *Menu* display (wherein you use the up down North/South arrows to pick the menu option...Align, Setup, etc

Re: Manual Slew Gemini 1
Bryn, ensure you are in sidereal mode not any other mode. When you boot it'll automatically go to alignment mode ......you need to use the menu to get out of this and enter sidereal mode.?? Also it
Re: PEC training
Thanks Michael. I am aware that it is cleaner to look at an unguided log when trying to evaluate a mount. In this case, I am just trying to work with what I have since I will not have an opportunity

Re: Manual Slew Gemini 1
Thanks Brendan, I did manage to get it to slew following your advice. However, immediately after boot, I waited for the controller screen to go dark, then followed your instructions. However, instead

Re: Mounting a Guide Scope to a G11 Mount
Hi Terry, Welcome to the group! I'm an owner of a young GM811GHD, about 10 months old now. Gemini II Guiding scopes are comparatively smaller than your Main telescopes. If your Sky90 has a guider shoe

Manual Slew Gemini 1
I¡¯m hoping this is obvious but it¡¯s escaping me! I¡¯ve read the Gemini 1 manual (1.05) and searched this group, but I¡¯m at a loss! So here goes. How do I manually slew a GM-8 with Gemini 1?

Re: PEC training
Paul, What Brian is trying to say is this: You have gone off the beaten track, and into an unknown area by trying to interpret autoguide movement data as PE data. In theory these are the same. But in

Re: PEC training
Can you upload the log file you are looking at? periodic error as an error in pointing that is periodic. it's really tracking, not pointing, but I think you meant that

Re: PEC training
OK. When I ask about PE I am asking about PERIODIC ERROR. I define periodic error as an error in pointing that is periodic. To me, PE means Periodic Error. PEC means Periodic Error Correction. Same

Re: What to ask/check when buying a used G11?
Hi Steve can you just ask what year it was made? Find out if it has spring-loaded worms you can get the serial number from the bottom of the mount, that will indicate the age wrote: -- Bria

Turn it upside down and look down into the bottom of the mount. You will see a number that indicated the date manufactured. It is somewhat coder but you can figure it out. Aubrey Sent from Mail for

Re: Mounting a Guide Scope to a G11 Mount
Thanks Mearl, that gives me hope that the replacement scope will be an improvement. I have always assumed my guiding is OK but since this is my first attempt at guiding I have nothing to compare it

What to ask/check when buying a used G11?
I am looking at a used G11 being offered locally here in Colorado with the Gemini 2 controller, owner reports that it was purchased from a college in Virginia. Can I tell the age by the SN#?? I
