Re: Snoring at my display...
After seeing a big fat Mama Rat on a corner storage container the other night, I put 2 and 2 together and figured out a mounting for a laser site I got for free. I mounted it to some Pikatinny rail,

Re: G11 RA needle bearings
Hi Marc, Actually the problem is that when the grease gets hot it separates and then runs out or the bearings leaving you without lubrication. When most greases get cold it gets stiff and sluggish
Re: OT: Success!
I wanted to go watch it live but my wife had other plans. She won!? I find it so amazing how they are bringing back the main stage and landing it. Incredible.

Richard, I admire your laid back nature! I 'feel' like to have to stay up as long as I can to watch things... e.g. control freak. -- Andy https://www.flickr.com/gp/andyweeks/90gqEZ

I looked at APT, but something about it made me move along. I still have it in my computer though. Like you, I like staying up and even watching the SGP program take off and run the telescope. It

It was a good trip, all in all. And may be a last one for the SIL as she has Stage 4 cancer in her liver. I love to play with her head when the chance arises. Quite naive. For me, a cup of coffee at

Re: Snoring at my display...
Oh, I know all too well, Paul. But since almost all of my imaging is for digital display, or video presentation, FITS files are of no real use to me. I'm just not seeing any value to me in all that

Re: Snoring at my display...
Hi Sonny, glad you go out to something any how. I have found with me drinking any stimulant just messes up everything on the other end. I don't get bored at all doing Astronomy so I can stay awake

Re: Snoring at my display...
15 years ago, multiple 15 hours days at work were not a problem. Much harder now. When I am imaging at home, I am confident enough to let SGP take care of things and go to bed. But just last week,

Hi Deric! Good to see you! I often try and catch a nap and it invigorates me into the evenings. I often do 6 hour sleep cycles. But as I've aged I tend to go 7ish hours. I used to function on a lot

You are feeling old because you stay up until 3 AM most nights. LOL! When I was young I could stay up all night conversing about crap we could never change, nor would ever amount to a hill of Lima

Re: Snoring at my display...
I use Astro Photography Tool. I stay up until the start of the Sequence. I make sure target is well framed and focus. I wait for the first image then go to bed. I have scripts set up in APT to stop

Well, I have become tolerant of Lima Beans if there is more ham than beans. But they have never been something I seek out. I've decided the texture is like a mouthful of diaper scrapings. ;^) Right

The superlube I've been using is PTFE so ok to use then. I understand your concerns about grease separating at low temperatures. I guess some of you guys must be at a latitude where it gets pretty

Re: Snoring at my display...
Sonny, FITS files are used for a reason, astronomy software uses them for data reduction, darks, flats, stacking etc. They also hold valuable information about the images that other files formats
