you talking about making a guide scope that is not intended on being ¡°adjustable¡±
point at the same spot as the main scope, where I might have to shim or file or
generally fiddle with the mounting of the guidescope to collimate it?? Yep, I
may have to do that, though it is more likely that if my setup now exhibits
flexure, then I will either A) go to an OAG w/ new filter wheel and filters, or
B) give up on the idea of guiding at all..

want to ¡°do the work¡±.. I started planetary imaging because it
requires no guiding.. That has worked perfectly for me (and my perfect optics

taking just a few mouse clicks and doing it identical for all the different
planets I have imaged.. Therefore it doesn¡¯t take any work.. I can
uncover the scope, take multiple videos of multiple planets, stack and process
the results, and be in bed at a reasonable hour for work the next day..
MY NEW GOAL is simply to do ¡°More¡±,
but the targets require longer exposures and guiding.. If the Weather would

I have no idea. I'm so new here I don't even have my new mount yet.
Given that, I used to periodically do a "Factory Reset" on my defunct mount when it would get wonky tracking and guiding.
I hadn't needed (or felt needed) to do that in a while. So I probably hit on a setting I had bumbled, and accidentally fixed my stupidity.
But point being, doing a Factory Reset can get you back to Box Stock. Trouble is all the tuning you did goes away too, in most cases.

Not dismissing it, Paul, But I tend to evolve slowly.
I do see where INDI has a weather station based in UNO, and that really interests me to replace my existing station.
I've been on Wundermap??for a while now and my Anemometer is locked up.
But building replacements that are UNO based interests me. Especially during the daytime when there is only one star to observe. LOL.
My telescope focuser is home made with UNO and software written by TeckyDave in GB. Works great!
So I got my feet wet in UNO with that. I made a few modifications to mine, like 12 volt motors.
I began trying to make a filter wheel driver, but stopped. I don't use my filters that much.
But you may find my fingerprints at the INDI site. ;^)

If you are using the app, there is a checkbox on the bottom left of one of the panels (might be the Telescope entry panel, or the Advanced panel).? The checkbox is for sending the UTC time from the PC's clock to the Gemini's time counter each time you connect.
There is a button to set UTC immediately also.? ?You might try those options to see if your trouble is corrected.
It's also worth double checking your settings for latitude, longitude, and elevation. Those settings are in Degrees, Minutes, Seconds, even though the delimiter is a dot "." that seems like it should be a decimal?point.? It is instead the European delimiter that is a comma in US usage.??
?If entering time using the handset, this is the instruction from the Gemini1 manual:
Gemini1 time and date UTC format
UTC Date/Time
The "UTC Date/Time" menu item is where you set Gemini's real time clock (RTC).
Upon executing "UTC Date/Time" the UTC date and time display freezes but the RTC continues to keep time.
The display of date and time from left to right reads as follows:? "yymm.dd hh:mm:ss"? ? (yy = year, mm = month, dd = day, hh = hour, mm = minutes, ss = seconds). ________ I get my UTC time here:
So if the UTC showed ?2019, Nov 20, 06:15:25 am? you'd enter in the Gemini

Looks like the only thing for me to add is the Gemini ASCOM driver (maybe. It may already be onboard)
All the rest I have and have been using. Except the ASCOM controller.
I would imagine the ASCOM handset (virtual) will just need getting use to for me. But shouldn't be any problem.
This shift to a Losmandy Mount may be much smoother than I imagined.

I used our moon as a test for visual tracking New Years eve ( It allways amazes me with a 12mm eyepiece it looks like you are looking out of Apollo 11's window) it tracked fine, even after 30 min.

Yes,
that¡¯s my guidescope.. I am aware it may not work, but it better because
if I have to go to an off axis guider, I would have to also replace my filter
wheel and filters too.. None of them are the ¡°thin¡± variety and I
cannot reach focus in the Raptor..
The
goal is to mount my ADM Laser Finder.. My camera chips are small and sometimes
an object lands outside the FOV, so I just reach up and switch on the laser and
I can see which way I need to move.. I also *really* want the two scopes to be
on the same object so I can easily swap cameras, so I don¡¯t want a
clamshell..
??? But
it may not work at all.. First I have to make it guide at all.. On my Dec axis,
the PHD Guiding assistant shows a LARGE time lag when I switch directions AND
all the data points it shows on that window are double points.. I am aware of
all the different ways to deal with the Dec.. Guide in one direction only.. Don¡¯t
guide in Dec at all, etc.. Just got to try it and address the issues as they

and movement through the night that for me they really make for poor guiding.
If that is your guidescope and you are adding more stuff to those rings? Sounds

more of a clamshell type of mount for your guidescope? Prime luce has something
like that I used on my tak sky90 and it holds everything really nicely

has to go in a different set of holes.. If you look at the guidescope rings,
the image shows 4 sets of adjustment screws.. It is also drilled to use only
three sets.. So there are seven adjustment holes that are all the same size..
Once the rail is on, I would be attaching the adapter.. The adapter is the same
as the base of the guidescope rings.. i.e. remove the rings and what is left is
the adapter..

take it to a DIY or Ace store as suggested by one of our other friends. When
you get back to the mount insert that one screw in the ring and tension it as
much as you had before.

weren¡¯t changed the boresight (to use the proper artillery term) of the
guidescope won¡¯t have changed significantly.

The
difference in boresight alignment (main vs. guidescope) will be trivial, unless
you are trying to keep things within arc seconds. I know of no reason worry
about that unless you are shooting very long exposures with poor polar
alignment.

You have a Gemini-2.... so I can't say.
If this were a Gemini-1, I'd suggest the Epson RTC chip may be defective.? I have bought extras if those chips, though I know of no Gemini-1 actually suffering time-keeping loss.
However, I do not know what chip keeps the time in the Gemini-2.? I don't own one yet.? If Losmandy won't replace your unit, and the trouble persists, I'd be willing to take a look at it.

Brian, I will check this out tonight when I get home and see if my Gemini still has the correct time. My tracking the New Years eve was as good as my polar alignment. I left the mount to sit for 30 min. And it was just a little off where I left it. I am

I seem to be having a problem with the Gemini 2 on my Titan keeping the date up to date.? The time is remaining correct, but it lags behind on the date, I have had to go in and update the date every time I go to use it during December.? I know you might be
thinking "battery" but it has been replaced as of the first incident, and is showing 3.10 volts in the web interface.? Once I update and set the date the targeting works good, so it seems to just be Gemini is not keeping up on the date.? I have tried both
turning the mount fully off as well as leaving it on in the observatory, seems to make no difference.
Also just this last session I began to have a tracking error when going to the Moon, the mount would got to fine then take off @ about 8X "tracking" the Moon.? Yea zip!!!? there went the Moon!? In manually switching the tracking with the HC to SideReal it goes
back to tracking at the SideReal rate without an issue...? Kind of weird, I'd think if the tracking was going to be messed up it would be messed up at any of the different rates not just lunar.? I think I will try a factory reset next outing and see if anything
changes, but any thoughts in the mean time??!
