Hi Wes - i think probably the easiest is to use a planetarium program like sky safari or stellarium. you can connect those to gemini and just GOTO directly from the planetarium software

Ah yes, it is not very intuitive. On top you have the orange Actions menu, from there you can join. Then you can add your pictures by editing its "Basic Information" and adding the group there.
