Re: Power GM811 from ASIAIR Pro, Pegasus PowerBox, or directly from 12v power source?
The mount itself should not use much power...only if it is way unbalanced or gears jammed. Typical power into my G11s is: Gemini bootup: 0.15 amp Gemini starts sidereal tracking: add 0.10 amp Gemini

Re: What to ask/check when buying a used G11?
Hi Stephen I suggest you reset the Gemini to HGM Defaults (I assume it's a Gemini II) and then do a baseline guiding by following this procedure:

Power GM811 from ASIAIR Pro, Pegasus PowerBox, or directly from 12v power source?
Instead of powering the mount's control panel directly from a 12v power source (in my case, that would be from the Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240, 240Wh Backup Lithium Battery 16.8Ah,

Re: What to ask/check when buying a used G11?
I¡¯m going to get things pieced together inside tonight, might be able to get it outdoors tomorrow. Is there a good checkout procedure? I thought my priority might be to get it Polar aligned, and run

Re: What to ask/check when buying a used G11?
Congratulations on your bargain G11. The only thing that looks original seems to be the left side block saying "Celestron by Losmandy". The side Elevation knobs, the Gemini-2, the tucked spring loaded

Re: What to ask/check when buying a used G11?
It¡¯s an older Celestron model, but I pulled the trigger anyway. Looks to be in good shape with upgraded servos as near as I can tell. And after watching lots of videos, I like the fact that it

Re: G11 Spur Gear Removal to Access Gearbox
Michael, Thanks so much for the detailed reply and suggestions! I will give some of those a try. I'll give the Losmandy folks a break for holidays and to recover from COVID before I pester them but

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Had a clear night tonight so tried the polemaster out. Very impressed with how quick this is to get good polar alignment.

Spring Loaded Worm - Is this normal?
Hi I have a G11 with Spring loaded Worm on both axis.? I watched a video from Losmandy on it, and one of the axis has no backlash.? To make sure we are on the same page, my definition is that

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Ok thanks, when the clouds clear I'll try it out. I want to start using my 300mm f/4 Newtonian scope which has a focal length of 1200mm so need to get reasonably good polar alignment since I usually

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Correct. There is no park position on the 492 Digital drive systems. However getting the bubble levels just right isn¡¯t that critical either. After you rotated back it asks you to find the stars

Re: Pole master on G11 with Digital Drives
Thanks for this Tim - I don't think there is a park position on the Digital Drive G11. I do have bubble levels on the mount so make sure it is level.

I rotate my mount manually. ?Just make sure you return to the park position accurately. ? My mount has levels to square up both axis

OK, some pictures of my GM811G Dec motor for you to reference. I think I could see why you might think your motor is kitty-wampus. But if it is landing flat on the surface it sets in, I'd bet it

Hi Robert there are quite a few DD users out there :) yes you can rotate it by hand, that's fine. just make sure it's tracking otherwise you'll get smeared stars -- Brian Brian Valente
