Re: Finding stars
Sonny Edmonds
In browsing through Michael's PDF, on page 10 I saw something that gave me a PITA, 64 bit file.
My computers run fine with 64 bit programs, nice and quick. But, my Infinity camera only has 32 bit drivers. Long story short, (Like that's ever possible with me...) By removing the 64 bit, then installing the 32 bit of Stellarium, I was able to get the Infiniky camera running good. It should not have been a problem, but that's one of the reasons I call it an Infiniky. ;^) -- SonnyE (I suggest viewed in full screen) |

btw another really important reason to set your limits properly is it helps with imaging time past the meridian and successful meridian flips Brian On Fri, Aug 28, 2020 at 6:47 PM jeff marston <jeffmarston@...> wrote:

I think I answered my own question. I followed Scott's, setting limits video, and I didn't get the "target unreachable" message.?
I always told my students that writing things down will help them organize their thoughts. Who knew I was so wise?

I have been doing some practice with my new mount in my living room. Earlier this afternoon I was doing modeling to get a polar alignment and it went well. At 7 pm I tried to do it again,
and I kept getting ¡°target unreachable¡± warnings, so the mount wouldn¡¯t move. I was wondering whether it had something to do with the safety limits of the mount. I have tried to change it, but I guess I am missing a few steps here and there.? Jeff |

Hi Michael,
With all the excitement I forgot say WOW! your images have come so far! Are these from the Edge HD14? What are you doing with the 12" ACF, has it been productive?? ? -- Chip Louie Chief Daydreamer Imagination Hardware? ? ?Astropheric Weather Forecast - South Pasadena, CA? |

Thank you for your warmth and forgiveness, Paul. I cannot forgive myself.?? Perhaps it is the short sleep cycle of imaging, processing images, or a twitchy Send finger.? But it is not the first time of such a mistake, and I must change my own behavior to protect our nice group from abuse.? I again apologize for my offense.?? Hey Michael,
I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the detailed write up you did (I think mainly for me:) about Jupiter imaging and processing a few weeks back. I actually printed it out and have used it as my field goto guide, and since then, have gotten the best Jupiter imaging I have ever attempted. Had it not been for your going way above and beyond, I would probably not be imaging planets at all. I realize that I had not replied directly to that thread, and just wanted you to know that the effort you put into that great guide has helped me a LOT! Thank You! Astronut Tim |

Accidents happen, and you did apologize. There's no need to leave the group. I've edited out the archives to remove anything personal but please let me know if I missed anything. Regards, ? ?-Paul On Fri, Aug 28, 2020 at 02:40 PM, Michael Herman wrote:

Re: Finding stars
Hi Jeff Yes, you need two things at a minimum, both available at ASCOM ? first is installing the ASCOM platform (which may require you to install other windows components, but it should walk you through that) second is the Gemini Telescope.net ASCOM driver, available on the same site here:? ? Scroll down until?you see Gemini Telescope.net You will need to decide how you want to plug in the Gemini to your computer, you have several?options: USB, Ethernet, serial port.? I couldn¡¯t find a download in Ascon specifically for Losmandy mounts, nor Gemini II. Don¡¯t I need that to do PHD2 guiding with my new mount? --

I wrote to Michael personally as well, but i'd like to say for the record that i also hope you stay,?Michael It would be a loss for all of us if you left.? I've said plenty of dumb things and was grateful for the feedback and corrections.?
I hope we can all learn from each other And if you're gonna talk smack about me, you gotta keep those threads separate ;) Brian On Fri, Aug 28, 2020 at 12:58 PM crocco1250 via <crocco1250=[email protected]> wrote: Michael --
