Trivia question.? New GM811G, my first Losmandy mount although I have a lot of experience with other mounts.? Visual observing session with C8 at 110x. Go-to and tracking are good.
Hand-box-button speed is set to Center.? When I press the east or west button, the star moves instantly, but when I press the north or south button, there is about a 1.5-second delay before any movement.? I wish I had thought to listen whether the motor was running before visible movement started (I suspect it wasn't).? The very constant nature of the delay (1.5 seconds every time) led me to think it was programmed into the firmware, rather than due to backlash, but I couldn't think why they'd do it that way.? Is this normal?
