Hello

Just to close this topic, I wanted to mention that after my initial trouble with the random GOTOs I have been using the mount with no issues for a few days now. The only difference between now and then is the change to the mount limits I was using before.?

When the problem occurred, I had set the mount limits to use the MI-250 defaults, but after the issue I changed these limits and configured them manually. After that, the mount didn't show any random gotos anymore.

Just to show that things? are working well here, this is the first image I made with the new mount:

Hope you guys enjoy it, and thanks for the help!

On one hand, I'm a little bit happy to find out about a fix to this problem.
Hi Alan

EDIT: woop, my bad i got confused here that you jumped in on the OP's comments?

>>Why is Losmandy still using this wretched buggy controller that looks like it came from the late 90's?

Actually the controller is not the issue, The Gemini 2 works extremely well and in many ways far surpasses controllers of other mounts. It's a firmware issue that happens in very specific and limited circumstances, so it happens rarely. Most customers don't run into this.

We are taking this fix and some other improvements and wrapping that into a firmware release. In the meantime, assuming this is your issue, you have an immediate fix.?

i understand your frustration but hopefully now you know you have a place to ask questions and get support for your mount.? Astronomy is challenging because it involves so many interconnected pieces it's hard to know where is the problem. in my experience 90% of any solution is just knowing what is the problem.?
