Re: Mount sales must be doing great, glad I already ordered!

Looks nice, Jason.
Beautiful scope.? You made a very big?investment in great equipment.??

To balance most easily, power on your Gemini-2.? Set the tracking rate to Terrestrial (none).??

Use the Gemini to slew your RA until the counterweight bar is horizontal.? At that position the DEC axis has no weight on the clutch disk.? When the DEC clutch knob is loosened, your DEC will freely rotate and you can balance the DEC dovetail.??

After DEC is balanced, leave the bar horizontal.? On your Gemini-2 there is a feature for Mount Balance.? There will be a bargraph.? The bar graph is telling you how much current the Gemini is using to the RA (DC) to keep the RA axis immobile.? If you push on the RA axis you should see the bar graph change.? ?Let go of the axis and watch the bar graph.? If it shows one side higher than the other try to re-balance the counterweights.?

Hope this helps you...

Have fun,
Michael

Hi all, by way of update, my mount arrived last week, so was about an 11 week delivery (For my Mid-March order). Many thanks to Tanya, Brian, and the rest of team Losmandy.? I had some time over the last few days to assemble a complete rig in dry dock, learn Gemini 2, and make new profiles in all systems. I'm hoping to test it outside tonight, so look out for a fresh post with questions I can't locate.? Already grappled with the balancing the sticky RA - had to move the latitude to <=10 degrees and use the RA Load / Offset reporting to determine a hypothetical sweet spot - crossing my fingers. Almost all components seem built very well, with really nice fit and finish.
