Astromart is a lot different from ebay.? I have had several problems on ebay and once I have started an ebay dispute, I have never lost a case yet.?
I have found Astromart to be a good place to buy and sell.? It is obvious that with a zero rating buyers will be initially sceptical of you.? However if you reply to email enquiries promptly, politely and fully then a buyer who really wants to buy what you are selling will probably buy.? You need to be flexible with pricing and with shipping costs.
Using PayPal is a very good idea.? It is a safe way to send and receive funds.? Bear in mind that PayPal extracts a 3% levy on transactions that are not designated "Friends."? In return for this they give you insurance protection.? Some sellers demand that buyers pay an extra 3% on the sale price.? I think this is just being petty.
Asking buyers to pay shipping is fair since a buyer may be a long way away from you.? Helping out with shipping cots can make or break a sale.? Yes, you get less money but if you have priced correctly then you should still be happy with your sale.? Be careful that your sale price + shipping costs do not come close to just buying a new item similar to what you are selling.? The whole sale is an exercise in damage control for both seller and buyer.? I find it quite fun.
G11s usually sell quite quickly on Astromart.? I just paid less than $1,000 for mine with a Gemini-1 controller but not on Astromart.? Regrettably I only have a sample size of one.
In summary, be realistic, be honest (I am certain you are) and, be flexible.??
Good Luck.
