There are two issues I had with the Polemaster and Windows 10 (Dell laptop). Note that these issues were unique to my Dell, another computer I used it on didn't have these issues:
1. As Loren noted, Windows 10 can power down an "unused" USB port to save power. The solution is to go into Settings and disable this irritating "feature".
2. Even after this, PM would randomly freeze. I even got on a remote session with the developer in China and he checked that all the drivers I had were correct. He wasn't able to help. The solution was to not connect the PM directly but through a USB hub, any hub, even an unpowered one works.
After I did these two things, the device has worked without issue. I currently use it not with the native PM software (which I don't think gives as accurate alignment as advertised) but with Sharpcap.
