Brian, you have been totally awesome, I probably would have sold my G11G awhile back without your help, but I know that it is truly the Last GEM mount that I need and is that forever mount. My next purchase from Losmand is a AZ8 mount for a grab and go. No electronics or computers with this one. Discussions on CN are like all Losmandy products, it is over built. And they are made here in the U.S.A. getting you on the Losmandy team was one of the best moves that Scott, has made. One of your best traits is the patience to deal with knuckleheads? like me. LOL....

Deric i'm glad to be of any assistant to you and everyone. the goal is awesome astronomy/astrophotography! :)

This is also the biggest tech support issue we have: a lot of assuming that Losmany mount should work like (fill in the blank of the last mount someone had) and the biggest challenge for many is unlearning that. you are definitely not alone there

Hello Taylor?
?I did to for the same reason, I was able to move Counterweights up by nearly 2" and that's a lot.
And learned that I did not have to tighten down the clutches hard unlike my last mount. I have a G11G with the tucked motors and spring loaded worms. And it was really weird to have play in the RA. Brian, has been a big help trying to convince every one that this is normal. It feels like this play in the RA should not be normal. But you know Brian is right, tracking is not effected one little bit. My biggest issue with the G11G is thinking that it should opperate like my last mount, and they do not. But now everything working like a Daisey now. Mostly thanks to Brian.

Thanks for the reply Brian.?

Deric, I believe I needed it. When I got to the point of balancing the RA, it was difficult to tell which side was heavy. I would give a small push in each direction and the RA would rotate without favoring a side. I would change location of the weight and rotation of the RA wouldn't really change as far as a weight bias. Now the RA is rotating smoothly and not as "sticky".
