Re: SAO on G2

Hi Erik,

Only the RA has limits...none on DEC.
You set these...see the attached PDF.

You should be able to slew the RA away from the limit, and free up the Gemini to work as it should.??

Try it in daylight...!

Best,
Michael

Two questions:
1. Like a lot of you, I'm interested in testing double star limits and, thanks to Sonny's very helpful "Tonight's Sky" suggestion, I drew up a brief observing list for last night. However, when I? went to the SAO tab and typed in the SAO number, the Gemini 2 couldn't recognize it. I tried this on a few other stars, including the very recognizable Epsilon 2 Lyr. What am I doing wrong here?

2. Speaking of limits, I hit my Dec (I think) limit and I couldn't get out of it until I shut the system off and cold re-started it. I haven't properly studied "limits" yet (my fault) and I made a hash of things on a night of incredible transparency up here in the north country. I'm planning to re-model tonight, trusting that a cold start will erase my mistakes. Would that life were like that. Anyway, if I encounter this again I'd like some guidance in re establishing the use of the G2 without losing three hours worth of the computer's "learned" input.
