Thank Brian, It was a perfect storm maybe dew plus something else. I have the Losmandy power supply. I will most certainly put a fuse inline plus a anti surge strip and I think that I can design a bus board with individual fuses for each piece of gear.

as for DC, i just have a 5amp fuse inline on my power cables, though i've never run into any electrical issues like?what you've described in the 12-ish years i've had my G11s

My AVX mount went up in smoke after it shorted out and the Lithium battery did a rapid discharge through the mount. Celestron is replacing it, I dont want this to happen to the G11.
