I’ve search high and low, and cannot find answers to these two questions.

1. My Gemini-2 hand controller does not save the time, nor does it get the time from the GPS (although it does take the latitude, longitude and UTC offset from the GPS).? Is this just the way it is, or am I doing something wrong.? I just put in a new battery, and it does keep good time if I leave it on, but the time is gone when I turn the system off and then back on.

2. As I understand it, when building a model from the startup menu, one must center the star only using “guide” or “center” speed, not the faster two speeds. ?But I find no indication that I must go that slowly when doing a sync on a bright star, or when building a model using the MENU | Align |Alignment option to add to a model (or doing a one-star alignment).? Am I free to slew quickly (it can take a LONG time to slew a few degres in “center” mode).
