That's nothing to worry about, it's just the normal high pressure type grease the bearings probably came packed to overflowing with when the bearings were manufactured. I'm pretty sure Scott buys standard commercial grade bearings from various sources which can come with lube colored just like that. Standard dinosar oil green seems to the most popular but red or purple or black or white are also out there, mine had this greenish-purple stuff that had broken down from the heat and left blobs of dried out hardened lubricant inside the bearings and a sticky oily goo all over the mount inside and out. Kerosene or mineral spirits will get you all cleaned up, be sure to use clean dry shop air to blow out your solvent completely then let the bearings "dry" for a day or two before relubing with my favorite stuff - SuperLube.?
