Thanks to all who contributed to advise on relubing the G-11. With
Mark's and others advice, I decided to try this myself and did

find that all bearings on the RA & DEC were seized. The only

had was in the beginning of disassembly. My mount came with the

encoders installed and you must remove the shaft gear in order to
disassemble the shafts. It is easy enough to do as a set screw

gear to a flat spot on the shaft. All the other instructions were
complete and easy to follow. The only other advise I would add is

special attention to reassembly of the clutches to make sure they

not to loose or tight. I found that if I tightened the clutches

tight before locking down the set screw worked best for me.

Any who have not attempted this really should. The difference is
tremendous and really should be listed under maintenance in the
