RF Power adjustment - possible future addition to firmware
Hi all.
I am wondering if it would be possible to make a change to the RF power adjustment in a future hardware update. It would be fantastic if power could be turned down even lower. At the moment the adjustment range is 10% to 100% of the maximum. I would like to experiment with power levels down to just a few mW. Is there any way the range can be altered in firmware so it's 0% to 100%? 73 M3KXZ |
This would be a nice feature but I'd like it because at 10% the TX-500 puts out closer to 2W than 1W. When using the PA500 amp (dyi599) I'd like to be able to reduce the power input to 1W or less.
It might be possible in software. Perhaps it's more a question of demand. I'd suggest emailing Lab599 because I'm not sure they look at (or even have access to) this forum. -- 73, Norm/KC1BMD |
I'm hoping to avoid spending more and adding extra stuff to carry and wire up.. Think it would be great if it can just be done with the RF power control in the rig. On Sat, 8 Apr 2023, 14:11 kg4zqz, <kg4zqz@...> wrote: |
Norm, I'll send Roman a message asap. On Sat, 8 Apr 2023, 14:05 Norm - KC1BMD, <noka@...> wrote: This would be a nice feature but I'd like it because at 10% the TX-500 puts out closer to 2W than 1W. When using the PA500 amp (dyi599) I'd like to be able to reduce the power input to 1W or less. |

I've been afraid to update. I keep reading about so many issuesFWIW, my experience is that it's very simple and quick. When I thought I was having a problem with the keyer (turns out it was OK) after one update, I reverted back and forth from new to previous version several times to do comparisons... easy! ? -- 73, Norm/KC1BMD |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI agree!100mw -1 W range will be amazing for several situations.. WSPR beacon for instance..! Thanks! Enviado desde mi iPhone El 8 abr 2023, a las 21:55, James S <jamesshipley@...> escribi¨®:
