Re: Temporary Battery Pack - My Power Solution #1 and #2 (While We Wait)
Correct, the battery pack from Amazon are soldered together. But it has built-in charge circuit and power meter. Plus that battery configuration is easy to replace if needed. I'm sure there would be a

I have a ratcheting crimp tool for butt connectors that works quite well. I cover them with adhesive lined heat shrink and that takes the strain off the connector if the cord gets pulled. When I made

Re: Fuse size in supplied power cord
My TX-500 fuse holder contained an F3AL250V 5x20 mm glass fuse. I was able to order spare fuses at a reasonable price on eBay. I got a package of 10 for $6.35 US including shipping. Brian - K3ES

Re: Fuse size in supplied power cord
Well that is two radios so far with 10A fuses. I know the fuses are smaller but glass fuses that size are hard to find and costly. I would think a mini blade fuse would be better suited. Easier to

Re: Temporary Battery Pack - My Power Solution #1 and #2 (While We Wait)
When you convert them to ATC, how do you tie them in? I try to avoid butt connectors. I may look into 3D printing a fuse holder that can be tied in. I agree with that. Most fuse holders feel janky at

Fuse size in supplied power cord
I checked the fuse size in the supplied power cord and it is a 10A 250v GMA glass fuse. The manual shows a 3A fuse. One normal way to calculate size is to use amp draw X 1.25. 3A X 1.25 = 3.75A Round

Re: S meter calibration
At least yours are a lot closer with the method you used. Mine are almost the same readings on all bands. S 4 with the Elecraft signal source pre amp off, S 7/8 pre amp on. Thanks for checking.
