Re: What price?
I¡¯ll provide my 2 cents. I purchased a spare TX500 a few weeks back from a local ham. $800USD. I couldn¡¯t believe it, and he was very happy with the sale, so we both won. It was used, with all accessories and the 3D printed covers for the face and ports. Still a steal of a deal in my opinion. I couldn¡¯t sell either of them for anywhere close to current MSRP and be happy about it because I like the rig so much. I would recommend in your case, if they are readily available in your area to list for a small discount from MSRP, say maybe 10% off plus shipping. That really depends on the local demand though.?

Re: What price?
Hi Richard,
I can't speak for the UK or EU, but they are out of stock at HRO here in the states with an asking price of $1,150 USD.? I've seen similar market conditions push list price or even above list price for excellent used transceivers (elecraft & flex especially).? If I were to put mine up for sale, I wouldn't discount it much.? I would throw domestic ground shipping allowed for domestic (CONUS) service, and waive Paypal or other online payment fees.? My experience is ease of purchase outweighs price.?? GL & 72 Dennis W6BFK |
What price?
Richard Meal
All, I'm thinking of selling my immaculate and hardly used TX500 as my QRP interests are moving in a different direction.? The boxed rig comes with all the original accessories, the brewer screen and switch covers and a case. I was thinking of selling for around ?850 (GBP) as they now selling for ?1200.? Would welcome any thoughts on used prices. Many thanks Richard M0RGM? |
Re: Memory Cell Programming Utility - Linux?
From Roman:
** Thanks for the note, try doing the following:
I re-uploaded the archive to the server with the file name changed: https://downloads.lab599.com/TX500/Lab599-TRX-Mem-EN.zip
?
?
With best regards,
Roman
Lab599 support team ** I followed Roman's instructions and the Memory Cell Programming Utility now works perfectly on my Ubuntu Linux machine! Thanks, Roman!? The TX-500 just keeps getting better and better! NOTE: I had to power cycle the TX-500 for the new memory data to take effect. |
Re: Problem with TX-500 Settings Backup Utility
We can hope their Software Quality Engineering (or whatever term Lab599 likes to use) is thorough and able to catch obvious "no-go" software defects that this could possibly indicate. If you contact them, I hope you get better response than I have lately. In the past, when I have emailed their support, I received a reply within a few days or so. I sent a few e-mails to them on different support questions/issues over the past few weeks and have not received any reply at all. I'm not sure what that means but it doesn't leave me with a good feeling about their support lately.

Problem with TX-500 Settings Backup Utility
Hi all, The latest firmware update utility and memory cells programming utility works perfectly fine on the same COM port. Also trying different USB-ports, reboot, etc. didn't help. |
Memory Cell Programming Utility - Linux?
I tried to run the Memory Cell Programming Utility "Lab599-TRXMem-1.03(x64)" on Linux (Ubuntu) but it did not work.? I see that the other two versions (the .exe versions) are specified as Windows executables, so I figured that the "Lab599-TRXMem-1.03(x64)"? version was probably a Linux version.? Is the "Lab599-TRXMem-1.03(x64)" version not a Linux program, or did I do something wrong when I tried to run it?
As an aside, the "LAB599-updatefirmware-1.0.1-(linux-x64)" runs just fine on my Ubuntu Linux system. |

Are there any issues with jumping versions?Lab599 posted this on their site under downloads/firmware under 1.16.06. Note: Updates are cumulative (it is not necessary to follow the order of version updates). To open the CB band (26065 - 29700 KHz) when upgrading from earlier firmware versions (v 1.12 and earlier) it is recommended to previously install the firmware version? ? Mine was delivered with v1.12.08. I updated to v1.14.10 but did not see the note at that time. I'm not sure what happens if you don't follow the above note, but I did not care about CB frequencies anyway. -- 73, Norm/KC1BMD |

It was pretty painless. I'm not a computer guy and I pulled it off

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
Did another activation Monday using the same key. This time I was intentionally slow, more accurate with keying. The result was none of the same delays from the previous outing.
Conclusion: it was likely my lack of proficient sending that caused the issues I was hearing. The SP4 with it's exposed sides is prone to errors, so adjusting my grip on the paddle helped as well. I also found a DIY leg strap for a paddle made with a cell phone magnetic mount, and ordered parts for that. I don't anticipate more issues. |

@Norm - KC1BMD, I guess I am with you. Scanned my Lab599 folder with all the files and received no detections using MS Defender or Malwarebytes.??

Thanks Chris. I also use Windows Defender. When manually scanning that file, it found no threats.

Good Afternoon/Evening Norm,
Perhaps it is my extreme caution (or OCD/ADHD), but here is how I scanned the file. It might only be adware or popup junk, but most people shouldn't want it. Hope this clears up any confusion. |
