Re: SSB on 10m - strong feedback not heard on other bands
The setup I¡¯m using lately is a quarter wave vertical with 2 tuned elevated radials. ?It¡¯s a Chameleon CHA SS17 connected to a Buddipole Versahub on a Buddipole shock-cord tripod. ?The two tuned

Re: SSB on 10m - strong feedback not heard on other bands
I use the same one. Works for me as well. I mainly use a 7-band EFHW, and depending on the environment, I usually need it on 17m and above. 73 Stephan

Re: SSB on 10m - strong feedback not heard on other bands
I ended up getting a CMC from N9SAB on eBay ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/164358440127 ).? It worked perfectly.? No more "noise" when I transmit. - Trevor, N6TJL

Re: Tuner for tx500
Hopefully yours doesn't have the same counterfeit Ultrafire batteries mine did and good luck finding replacements in that size/capacity. -- 73, Norm/KC1BMD

Re: LAB 599 flakey, unable to reflash firmware
Hi Brad - My radio also has different screws on the BNC port.? Silver Philips screws on the BNC port, and black Torx screws on all the rest. - Trevor

Re: LAB 599 flakey, unable to reflash firmware
I think i have solved my CAT and other problems.? I opened up the radio and reseated the CAT cable and now it works again..? The flakey dropouts were solved with reseating the BNC port.?

Re: Questions of the TX-500
I forgot to add: Yes the Mic jack has both dynamic and bias/electret/phantom power option. (many names for the method to add DC voltage to an analog signal wire). -- Grace & peace, Tim AF6TF

Re: Receive Equalizer
Thanks for the answers, I just work cw so wanted to peak the frequencies around my side tone of 660hz maybe I will insert a signal and adjust accordingly. most manuals explain these things a bit

Re: Receive Equalizer
I didn't try to over think it. I just set mine to what sounds good to me and called it done. That's what we do with any equalizer, adjust it for the best sound. Does it really matter what frequency is

Re: Receive Equalizer
The three settings (LF, MF and HF) adjust the relative levels of Low, Mid and High audio frequencies respectively. The default settings boost the low frequencies and reduce the highs.

Receive Equalizer
I know the TX-500 has a 3 band equalizer for receive but I can¡¯t find an explaination of what the three do. They are adjustable fro 1 to 100 but what does that mean? Default is LF=100 MF=75 and

Re: SSB on 10m - strong feedback not heard on other bands
Thanks for the explanation.? I will try a CMC on the feedline at the radio.? I tried 5 ferrite cores on the feedline, but that didn't reduce the problem. I was thinking that if the antenna is well
