Decided to keep my TX500. Don¡¯t know what got into me. As a matter of fact it will go with me on a SOTA activation tomorrow.

Re: Minimum Power at 10%
Thanks for your data. I wish Lab599 would add a feature to reduce power below 10%, preferably in several steps.

Re: TX500 For Sale
David
Appreciate the advice. I still do SOTA and POTA but I just don¡¯t need the smaller, lighter radio for the long treks. I have a KX3 that is plenty good for the job.
I started SOTA 10 years ago

Re: TX500 For Sale
Good morning Larry,
Have you tried POTA than SOTA. ?It's less strenuous.
Or, going forward, you could always just use it in the shack with all those beautiful keys you built. ?:) If I sold mine

Re: New To The Group and I have a suggestion!
As a (mostly) CW operator, I rarely use the mic so I made a similar lead to connect my headphones directly to the radio. It was the first cable I made for the tx-500 as the supplied ones are

Re: New To The Group and I have a suggestion!
If you look at the attachment you can see the pins 1 and 4 are used. ?I just used a stereo female jack of an old "Y" cable. ?You just need to ohm out the tip and shield wires and the third ring wire

David,
Can you provide a photo of how the wires go and where? I¡¯m not an electronics expert at all but I can do enough to get myself in trouble. That would be very helpful!!!

New To The Group and I have a suggestion!
Well, I took the plunge. Wished I had done it earlier as an early adopter a couple years ago and saved $250. Instead, I was excited with the QRP IC-705 which I still have. While the 705 has more
