Re: New Firmware available: v1.18.08
if this new firmware helps block the irritating 20M noise generated by iPhones, i will be very happy (happens with nearly all my rigs)

Re: New Firmware available: v1.18.08
Hi all, I have an irritating noise source which clicks at roughly 1s intervals. The previous NB reduced it slightly but the latest update has cured it completely. just my 2p worth¡ 73 Andy M0DEL

Re: Losing DIG mode on band change
The Flrig side of things seems to work now as intended which is a great workaround but standalone apps are still struggling so I wouldn¡¯t call it a fix yet. It¡¯s halfway there. One of my other

Re: New Firmware available: v1.18.08
Just my opinion: The first item gives a clue about what changed but with no detail, it's almost useless information. The second item, lacking any detail at all, is totally useless. Lab599 should get a

Re: Losing DIG mode on band change
Now that they have fixed it in the firmware, looking forward to a fix in the memory channels as well. Seems odd that I can't save a memory channel as digital and it automatically reverts to USB.

Re: latest on the BP-500
Hey Randy and the gang; My BP-500 was sent from UAE on the 28th, and was in yesterday's mail. Picked it this a.m. as I wasn't here to sign for it. Hooked to the radio and charging at the moment. TWO

Re: New Firmware available: v1.18.08
Today I activated two SOTA summits with the new firmware, all fine. I can't really test the NB, since I don't have an adequate noise source. In the past, I used it with heavy QRN that somehow reduced

Re: New Firmware available: v1.18.08
Always interested to work out what the "General Fixes and improvements" are, and the new algorithm for NB. So good to see this continuous improvement and development though.

Re: Operating *while* backpacking
Jacob, I have modified a Windcamp ARK-705 Shield frame, made to fit an Icom IC-705, to hold a TX500 and PA500. I did not make any changes to the TX500 or PA500 to make it fit. It is not a perfect fit,

Re: Operating *while* backpacking
You'd still need to set up an antenna whip in a backpack, but this is how I run my TX-500 field portable using a Hill People Gear Kit Bag: https://youtu.be/YNtaKQlq5xc?si=qFhqZZ8zS7wqfgBa

Re: Operating *while* backpacking
I've given this quite a lot of thought and came up with the idea of assembling cables for power and antenna as an adhesive lined shrink wrapped "umbilical cord" which can be attached over the shoulder
