Re: BP500 Questions

Actually there are no bugs to work out with the current BP500. ?I own the current version and it has worked flawlessly. ?As state earlier evidently the new version along with internal engineering reworks it will charge with USB C. ?Personally I would rather use the current DC plug as it would be more rugged in the field than the fragile USB C. ?Also the current 15v 3A wall wart they provide is a higher voltage than the USB C 5V so I imagine it will charge the 18650 batteries quicker. ? Also considering they are switching to USB C which is dedicated to 5v they might be removing the ability to charge it with solar panels. ?Currently the BP500 allows charging up to 50v WITHOUT the need for a charge controller which limits the voltage to an acceptable voltage. ?I've attached a link to an earlier post below with actual pictures showing my solar panel attached to the BP500 providing 27v with full sun. ?Personally I would jump on the current version before they are gone for the above reasons. ?My 2 cents.
