G'day Brad. A few obvious things to check are 1) use the CAT cable that came with the radio, 2) depending on its version you may need to update the driver (discussed on page 25 of the manual), 3) put the radio into update mode ("The loader is waiting" on the screen), 4) check that the right COM port is selected in the software.
