Missing Dits

Edited

Note: I had recently posted a question about the possibility of rolling firmware back to a previous version. I deleted that post, since I decided to try it and found it can be done. By the way, the firmware update utility works quite well and is relatively quick.

I purchased a new TX-500 from HRO last week and have used it on several CW QSO's. It was delivered with firmware version 1.12.08. I recently updated to the latest version 1.14.10 and soon realized I was dropping dits. FYI: I operate with the keyer (key type set to "Auto" in menu setting) at a speed about 23wpm (CW speed "128" on TX-500). I don't use Iambic but instead prefer a single lever key. I noticed that when I sent the letter "C" as in strings of "CQ" that the "C" was intermittently being sent as a "K". I also noticed that it was not the first dit but the second dit that was dropped. At first, I thought it was a dirty contact on my key but quickly realized that another paddle did the same thing and another radio did not have the problem with either key. So I rolled back the firmware to 1.12.08 and do not observe the problem. I sent an e-mail to Lab599 support for them to investigate further. I would be interested to know if anyone else observes the problem with firmware version 1.14.10.
